Purified Water: Broken Down
The Safe Drinking Water Act was originally passed by Congress in 1974 to protect public health by regulating the nation's public drinking water supply. Although our drinking water is generally deemed "safe", contaminants in natural sources are still found.
The World Health Organization developed a scale based on preferable levels of "Total Dissolved Solids" in water. The scale measures micro granular levels of chemicals in the water. To receive an "Excellent" rating, water must have an under 300 TDS rating. Chemicals in water can pose health disturbances and affect taste.
